Local campaigning with West London Citizens

Nineteen people from our Sunday congregation and community groups gathered together in April to discuss the important issues affecting people living in the local area. The aim was to present these to the leader of Kensington and Chelsea council with the hope of seeing long-term changes.

Revd. Azariah and congregation member, Anthea, then joined the other member institutions of West London Citizens and presented these issues to Councillor Nicholas Paget-Brown, leader of Kensington and Chelsea Council. The discussion focused on how we could effectively partner to impact the lives of those in our care; for example, how to tackle the problem of overcrowded housing and how the social care system can be reformed. A follow-up meeting has been arranged to take these discussions forward.

West London Citizens brings together people from diverse communities across west London to take action on issues affecting us all. For more information on the work of West London Citizens visit: http://www.citizensuk.org/chapters/west-london-citizens/
